Is There Blood on Your Cell Phone?

You have likely heard of conflict diamonds because of the movie 'Blood Diamonds' but have you heard of conflict metals?

Tin, tantalum, tungsten and gold are all mined in the Congo. This should be bring great wealth to the Congo but it's bring great pain. People are being killed and woman are being raped all for our electronics and jewelry. Enough is enough! We must stop this human rights crisis.

Please check out RaiseHopeForCongo.org and take action!

When I read the title of your article, I was like, weird, blood on my cell phone? And as I read it, Oh my God, I wasn't aware I never heard of any news about this issue. How long have they been doing this? It this is really true then it must be stop. As you have said, enough is enough. Many lives has already been sacrifice.

Steph & Green Girl: Me either. I knew there were likely issues with the metals in my phone because most mining at least has environmental issues but had no idea they were fueling a war!

John: haha I wanted the title to make people have to read.

I have no idea how long. The story seems to mirror blood diamonds and that happened for a very long time before laws went in to place to help stop it.

Hi read your article it's really nice.Using cell phones while driving and texting while driving are madnesses associated with somewhat older teens who, on the basis of having passed useless driver ed courses, are granted license to drive on America's roads and highways. The common answer is surely a "Cell phone". Cell phones have become so popular these days especially among the adolescents that cell phone companies' sales have increased by a huge percentage in the recent years. It is because cell has become a style symbol. Formerly it was a need but now it has become a luxury. Every kid today longs for a cell phone whether he needs it or not and parents too fulfill each and every need of there child. The trend started from the children of VIP's for whom it was a need due to security reasons. for more information join us at :- Cash4Phones.com.Thank you.

I never knew myself actually, I was aware of the diamond troubles. I guess it could be extended to precious metals as well as we use up our resources. This can be tackled by recycling mobile phones so we don't have to do so much mining for new materials such as precious metals like Gold etc.

Regards.
